December, 2009

Well, here we are, at the end of the year. Has it been a good one for you? I hope so. It has been a great one for me. Granny Nothing is back on the shelves, and I couldn’t be happier to see her there. Hide and Seek came out and I hope some of you have read it and enjoyed it. And Grass was published in August and I have been so delighted by the reviews I have had, not just in the magazines and newspapers, but from readers themselves, e mailing me and telling me how much they have enjoyed it. Please let me know what you think, I love getting your e mails and I always answer. So if you haven’t had an answer, it’s not because I haven’t sent you one. Try again, please.

I have loads of goals and resolutions for next year. Do you do that? I want to write better books, I want to try something different, I want to visit somewhere I have never been before.

I have travelled a lot this year. I’ve been to Spain and Australia, and in August I went to a Writers’ Conference in Los Angeles, I loved that, and there they told us what the next big thing was going to be. At the moment, it’s all romantic vampires...and I like my vampires, scary! I said I was going to tell you what they, ( ‘they’ being the publishers, the publicists, etc,) told us.

Want to know?

Angels.

That’s what they think is going to take off next year. Does that excite you? Baffle you? Are you sitting there saying... “ Oh, come on, angels? You have got to be kidding!’

But think about it, angels come in all sorts of different guises. You think I haven’t thought about angels? Think again.

Watch this space. Have I got an Angel for you!

Merry Christmas, and have a fabulous 2010! A new decade, isn’t that exciting?
